Somewhat local overnight ideas for bach party
Our friends recently got engaged and are planning s destination wedding in July. In all likelihood we won't be able to attend. Unfortunately we won't be able to take part in the bachelor or bachelorette parties because we will be away with our kids that week. DH and I are trying to come up with something to do with the couple that is more/different then just going out to dinner, which we can do any time. We would like treat them, but obviously within reason. Ideally I would lice to do an overnighter somewhere with fun nightlife. AC is going to be too expensive and honestly, too long of a drive for one night. We could maybe swing two nights somewhere if the pricing was reasonable. We're thinking the last weekend in June. I was thinking maybe Westerly, RI but I'm hoping for some other suggestions. We live in White Plains.

how about the wineries out east and stay in a B&B? It might be a bit pricey but thats a fun overnight trip.

Because they are going away for their Bach parties (boys to Miami, girls renting a Hamptons house) and the fact that they're doing a destination wedding to the Bahamas, I don't think they're going to have the money for something like that and I'm worried that might be a bit much for DH and I to cover.

Manhattan
Mohonk Mountain - I don't know about their nightlife but a nice dinner and drinks somewhere on property would be a nice evening.
Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun

How much did you want to spend? I know you said June, but every May norwegian cruise line has a 1-night party cruise out of NY. We did this for my bach party in '06 and it was so much fun!

We went to Wildwood NJ for mine in July. The hotel we had was right on the beach (Acadia Motel - awesome place). We went out to a few restaurants and bars. It was totally laid back and not that expensive. It was about 20 mins south of AC
