I just went through about 400 wipes in our first 3 weeks  wow seeing that in writing even freake me out a bit!!!

Ye I might be abusing the wipes but DS really goes to town every meal it's inevitable... I usually use around 2-3 every diaper change, and it's around 10 changes a day. Plus he spits up quite a bit and I use the wipes to wipe his hands very now and then so it adds up! But I did find pretty good deals on eBay. Got 768 wipes for like $23!

I think I'm going to just use a washcloth to wipe hands and face for meals and messes to conserve wipes and just use wipes for diaper changes.

I usually try to get the value box at target for $12 (7-8 packages)
I can't fathom how many, the last time I had a baby in diapers, I had a 2 year old in diapers too.
But I do agree about using them to clean up at meal time!

I use them for everthing!! To clean toys, floor, highchair, face & hands, butt ect... I am always ordering the box of refills for $14.99 on one of the websites... I order at least 2 boxes a month

We actually use BOUNTY or VIVA paper towels that are cut into approx, 4 x 4 squares, all white - no dyes.
I moisten the paper towels with warm water - I keep a squeeze bottle of water on the changing table.
Our ped suggested that we use this rather than wipes to avoid diaper rash.
DD is 20 months old and never once had a diaper rash.
I thought it was strange when I first heard it myself but it works for us.
will be doing the same for baby #2.
Wipes I use for when we are out and about.

Same here! The hospital and our Ped suggested this to us also. I used the moist paper towel on ds for the first 3-4 weeks and then switched to the wipes.
To answer your question..you will go thru a lot early on. Newborns have tons of poopy diapers! If you are only using wipes for diaper changes I would say about a box or 2 a weeks.

I love this idea! It's probably cheaper and more environmental, too! (I'm a big environmental dork.)
