City Mini- yay or nay/rants or raves?
It's almost time to retire our snap n go and we need a light weight stroller! I am THIS close to buying the new city mini- and I know it generally gets rave reviews. But before I spend the cash, I was curious what other mommies thought of it. Worth the cash?
Pros and cons?
It's a big purchase and I want to be 100% happy with the stroller we get- since I want it to last us.
What do you think?

Re: City Mini- yay or nay/rants or raves?
As a Mom, I loved it - SO easy to handle, pushes well, lightweight, folds in 1 second easy to lug around etc etc. - The only thing I didn't like was the fact that the shoulder straps never seemed to fit/lay right - it made me crazy -
My son was so uncomfortable in it -
He'd stay in the Bugaboo forever - We have literally spent HOURS walking around on the beach, in the city, etc etc w/ the Bug and if it was his nap time, he'd sleep as if he were in his crib, otherwise he was perfectly happy to hang in there and people watch or whatever .........
I couldn't PAY him to stay in the City Mini for longer than 15 minutes ..... He just didn't like it.
I replaced it w/ a Peg Perego Vela (also lightweight, compact and VERY easly to lug around) HE likes it 'better' - but I am not a huge fan of it at all in comparison to the quality of the City Mini

Re: City Mini- yay or nay/rants or raves?
I agree with Marisa. It's the only stroller we have due to space & $ issues. I like the stroller because it's lightweight & easy to open but I can tell that DS isn't comfortable in it. The snack tray is placed way too high & he hates that he can't sit completely upright. There also isn't really a foot rest on the city mini. His legs just hang & he usually likes somewhere to place his feet.
Take your DD to the store, let her sit in it & take it for a spin before you buy it.

I agree with the PPs. I LOVE it. DS did not once he got older and wanted to sit up straight and look around, he's very nosy! I just got the peg perego vela and I love it just as much as the city mini and even more bc DS is finally happy too.

The 2011 model has a stiffer back that should help make it more comfortable.

Re: City Mini- yay or nay/rants or raves?
i have a double so i dont know if the single is the same but i have 2 complaints, when wearing heavy jackets i felt the straps were never long enough, and the basket underneath is a pita to fit things in but other than that i like it, it is very light weight and my girls are 11 mos old and are fine in it,

Does it sit up higher? I see a lot of complaints that it's too reclined...

Yep, the new 2011 model sits up straight - it has two thick velcro straps to bring it more upright. Also the 2011 model comes with the board for the back of the seat so the seat isn't like a "hammock" style anymore, more like a regular stroller seat. Those two things were why I exchanged my 2010 model for the 2011. DS is 13 months and he does like to sit upright. I bought the belly bar for him and he's very happy in the stroller.
For me, I LOVE the way it steers, that I can push with 1 hand when I need to. Love how easy it is to close. I agree that the straps seem to be short when they're wearing their winter coat (I thought I was just doing something wrong, lol). The basket is easiest to access from the side. I have a big diaper bag, so I just hang it from the straps. I do wish the basket had a bigger/easier access point, but that's really my only complaint.

So it seems like the 2011 is better than the previous models.
Good to know.
Thanks ladies!

Re: City Mini- yay or nay/rants or raves?
I love that it's pretty lightweight and the super easy fold.
I really dislike the basket, it's not that accessible and the seat it not upright enough.
I have the new 2011 model and to me it's still too much at a recline. Honestly I am considering a new stroller because of this. I see other babies in strollers when we are out and they are sitting much more upright. I feel like she's at a disadvantage because she is always trying to lean forward.
DD is 10 months.

Thank you!! I was trying to figure out what those straps were for!
