Baby hiccup frequency

DD gets the hiccups CONSTANTLY - multiple times a day.

I know this is a silly question but is there anything I can do? I like knowing she's in there and moving around but the hiccups are so annoying and she gets them like 5 times a day!

Is this "normal"? I am very prone to hiccups as well ... think she inherited this from me? Chat Icon

Mine has them all the time - I feel they stop when I tend to change positions - like go from sitting to standing and start to walk
My sister said her DS had them all the time too and now that he is 2 he still constantly has them where as her DD rarely had them!

Re: Baby hiccup frequency

DD had them at least 5x a day too while preg. Sometimes it would wake me up at night.
And now, she has them at least 2-3x a day too at 4 weeks old.

Re: Baby hiccup frequency

Sorry for crashing your post but how do you know they are hiccups? People keep asking me if I have been feeling them and I don't think I have. But I can't be sure. I don't know how to distinguish it from her regular kicks and punches.Chat Icon

I am assuming because they are rhythmic ... they are every like 3 seconds or so, and in the same exact place. Of course I don't know for sure, but I imagine that DD wouldn't be able to coordinate rhythmic punching/kicking that well!

Depends! The spell I wrote this during lasted maybe 5 minutes, but last night she went for a good 20!
