Stretch marks, and spider veins
Ok ladies... so these are my 2 things Im sooo scared are going to be bad for me, since I am really pre-disposed to both unfortunately since high school
Is there anything I can do? I know people have said to me that stretch mark creams dont really work. Are there any good ones that I can use while pregnant? I want to start doing anything I can as early as possible.
Also, I know there are the compression stockings for veins, but I have worn them for a period of time bc my derm dr said it would help me not get more spider veins when I wasnt even pregnant, but they didnt really help.
Does anyone else feel that no matter whats out there, nothing actually works when it comes down to it? All these things out there just slightly mask the issue, IF THAT, and not stop or treat it? Uggh
Any advice on either would help so much coming from you ladies

Re: Stretch marks, and spider veins
Don't really have much advice. But I can sympathize with the spider veins. I have had them behind my knees for quite a few years now and am just worried they're going to get worse. I feel the same way about all the produsts. That nothing is going to pevent this from happening. I did hear to elevate your legs whenever you can. As far as stretch marks, I heard they're genetic. But I still use shea belly butter and I love it. If anything at least my skin feels nice and soft

Re: Stretch marks, and spider veins
I didn't get any spider veins. So I can't really help you with that.
As far as stretch marks go, I had been way heavier in my life before I got pregnant. So when I was pregnant, I actually only gained 3 lbs more than my heaviest weight of my life. Somehow, this prevented me from getting any new stretch marks until the very, very end. I had one little tiny purple dot on each side that I knew were stretch marks that I started to notice around 35 weeks. They never grew though.
Somehow after delivery, I got a few more stretch "dots" -- I counted 14 total. They're not bad at ALL -- nothing compared to the stretch marks I had growing up (I had some on my underarms, my thighs, next to my knees, and my stomach, over those years -- they are all faded completely to white/skin color now).
I went to get a bikini wax when I was 38 weeks (my OB actually told me to) and the lady there was very surprised to hear this was my first because of the faded stretch marks (how nice of her to comment lol). They honestly don't bother me much anymore.
So, hopefully you'll have an experience similar to mine or better. You just never know.
This is a very special time in your life and the bottom line is that a healthy, thriving child is way more important than cosmetic changes to your body. Whatever happens, it's all natural and nothing to be ashamed of. I hope you make peace with whatever changes your body goes through.

Thank you for your advice! Do you know what brand the shea belly butter is?
Yeah, the spider veins and me have a past going back to high school. Not a lot of people my age got them so young. They are not terrible, but bad enough that I feel so uncomfortable in shorts and have not worn them in years. I even tried the laser and that other procedure at the dr, and they disappeared only to come right back with in a few months. Nothing works. I know its not that big of a problem and that the big picture is sooo much more important, but Im glad theres someone that I can share this with.
Im really not a vain person at all, and if you knew me IRL you would never think I would be asking these questions. I guess I just feel like if theres anywhere to ask them, this is the right place to go.
Thanks

Yeah I guess Ive kind of already accepted whatever my body does, its for the best of our baby, and I dont talk about these things IRL because Im a little embarassed knowing how insignificant it is compared with what you get out of it- hopefully, a healthy happy baby!
I guess the reason I even wrote this was to ask if there was anything I could do starting early on to minimize whatever my crazy body has planned ahead!
Thanks again!

The shea belly butter is from Tree Nut called mother with child. I got it at BRU. It feels and smells so good!
