Re: High risk sono at Stonybrook
I had it back in 2007. Wasn't any different than the one in the OB office, just a different tech and different doctor looking at it for what they wanted to see.

So what's the point?

Re: High risk sono at Stonybrook
I had a more in depth level 2 sonogram at SB OBGYN than what my OB office could provide.
My OB thought they saw something re: placenta issues and wanted a more in depth look and sent me to SB OBGYN.

Re: High risk sono at Stonybrook
Ive had all my sonos there (they do reg & hi risk) so i cant tell how they would be different from your dr office but i can tell you that the techs and drs are awesome
The sono tech discovered my vasa previa (the use 3d color doppler - special equip) and ive been seeing the high risk drs in the group ever since.....im so glad i chose stonybrook for all my care -- if i went somewhere else this might have been missed.
We always request Frank as our tech (hes the one who discovered it - not sure if the other techs missed it or it was too early).....if you have to see a high risk dr try to get Quirk or Ogburn -- they are the best
Good luck

I truly don't remember.
It must've been different because the high risk dr saw what he needed, even though they were doing sonos on me every week at my regular dr. 2 days later I was there getting a high risk one at Stony Brook. Looked the same to me. They even measured, just like my other sonos. But to me, it didn't look any different. I am no help. This is why I should stay off this board.

Yes, I agree about Quirk and Ogburn. I see Quirk in Islip Terrrace office. Also when I had my amnio, Carrie did the sono and she was super. Really top notch and knowledgeable.
