Do you think this bedding can be used for a girl? We are painting the room Florida Aqua.

Re: Can this bedding be used for a girl?

i would love to say yes... because it's so darn cute... but i think it might be too "blue" - and the only reason that's "boy" is because that's what society tells us. and it sux. because it's so cute.

I personally am not stuck on the whole blue is for boys thing. If you love it, get it...but it seems like a traditionally boy bedding.

I actually love blues and aquas for a girl, those are my favorite colors...although there aren't any really feminine colors/objects in that bedding so I'm not too sure...but if you are dead set on this set then with the aqua walls and possibly white furniture I think you could pull it off. Also with some accessories you can make it more feminine maybe a white soft shaggy rug or maybe a white marabou feather lamp those are some girly accents!

ETA: I'm all for not going with the norm...if you like it and it makes you happy go for it Chat Icon

I think with the aqua walls it would work for a girl. I would probably get more girlie room decor and accessories though.

Maybe you could incorporate a more "feminine" color with the bedding since in the picture there is A LOT of blue throughout the room.

I am a girl who has ALWAYS loved blue. Blue blue blue. I say that while it tends towards boy, anything goes for a girl. I'd pair it with a white girly crib and white furniture, play down the blue and add more white accents including a few things with ruffles and maybe some pink accents as well and you could totally make it work for a girl!

My initial reaction is to say it is for a boy. However you can do whatever you choose.

I think it really is neutral. It's all about how you play it up in the room...

I wonder if these are the true colors of the bedding or if you could find similar bedding that is more girly. I just tried googling it and I found a pic of bedding that looks identical expect for the coloring (some purples and light greens with the blue).

Re: Can this bedding be used for a girl?

I think you could use that bedding if you brought in some other colors .........

I think that bedding w/ that wall color is not only very boyish, but very 'blendable' ..........everything just kind of blends into everything else -

Maybe yellow or pink or lavendar accents? Curtains? Rug, Lampshade etc etc. -

I think you can use it. Its your house and your child. Your little girl, will still be a little girl, if there is some blue in her life. Forget society and do what you want.Chat Icon

That one is really cute! Probably more appropriate for a girl. Thanks!
