eating food after baby is born
once the baby is born I can start eating the things that my doctor had on the no-no list even if i am BFing? right?
For example - turkey sandwich and tuna and hot dogs? (obviously not all at once)

I plan too!! I already have a list and in what order I want them. I will admit I have been eating hot dogs in moderation during my pregnancy (they were a craving .

I think they tell u to stay away from spicy foods cause they can bother the baby when BFing and also alcohol bc that goes into ur breast milk as well.
Other than that I think it's safe to eat anything while BFing.

as long as it doesn't both the baby's stomach, you are fine! i'm on a dairy-free diet right now because dairy was bothering my DD. she's doing a lot better now because of my change in diet!
...but I was so excited to eat hot dogs again, YUM!

I will have a glass of vino and sushi, a beer and a hotdog.. after that I'll be good.. I figured the alcohol ban will continue until you stop BFing.

You are able to eat the "forbidden" things you mention while BFing. Your body processes any possible contaminants and you are not sharing a blood stream with the LO after delivery so it is not a problem. Right after I delivered I had a salad with lots of fresh crumbled gorgonzola cheese and all was well ( and I was BFing). The restrictions are less while BF vs being preggo. I do believe you still have to be careful with your mercury intake though, at least that's what my LC told me.
