hair dying
I know that some docs say you can and some say no...Just out of curiosity what did your doc say about dying your hair during pregnancy?

Thanks! That's my plan, to just hold off until the 2nd trimester...My roots are so grey already! Its gonna be a long 5 weeks haha

I asked my doc if I can get highlighted and he said NO!!!! I thought I only had to wait out the first trimester!!!
I may have to defy my doc on this one... 
I can't go without Japanese Straightening AND highlights! And I know PLENTY of people who did their highlights after the first trimester.
I hear coloring, though, is a different story, so I don't think I really helped you. Sorry!

at my first appt. my NP said if you plan on coloring your hair, wait until u pass first tri.. she specifically said that to me.. luckily, I did it during AF, I'm hoping it would hold me..

i only went about 10 days before I found out I was PG but unfortunately my hair grows so fast and I am already gray

I have colored my hair my whole pregnancy, my first trimester I switched to a non permanent color and then switched back to permanent 2nd trimester.

My doctors said that I shouldn't do anything the 1st trimester, but that highlighting was ok after the 1st tri b/c when you highlight, the bleach/color does not touch you scalp so the chemicals are less likely to absorb. They said I should not dye my hair.

I asked my OB if it was okay to dye my hair and he said it was fine.
A friend of mine is a colorist at a salon and she's 20 weeks pregnant now. I figure that if she can work 6 days a week around this stuff, I can be exposed to it for an hour once or twice!

Waited until my 1st trimester was over and did highlights at beginning of my 2nd trimester.
Will be doing highlights again next month.
