Re: question about NT scan

they told me 45 min to an hour, but when I went it only took 25 minutes for the scan and 5-10 more to discuss my results with the doctor because the baby was pretty cooperative and they got the measurements they needed quickly.

Re: question about NT scan

I have been getting them twice a week for 3 weeks now and they usually take 30 minutes. One time I was there for almost an hour because baby was quiet and I had to shift positions several times to get him to move around.

Re: question about NT scan

almost 2 hours!!

wait. the NT scan is the earlier one? okay nevermind. it was the anatomy scan that took 2 hours. at the NT scan, my kid would not cooperate so we had to leave the room, pee, drink water, 3x. with that, it was about an hour.

it really depends on if your LO cooperates.

Re: question about NT scan

It wasn't long. The sono was probably 10 minutes, the most, but I think less than that. Then they pricked my finger and I was done.

The second part is a blood test.

The level 2 they told me takes like 40 minutes for the sono.

Re: question about NT scan

With DS it was maybe 20 minutes.

This time it was close to an hour (but I'm pregnant with twins).

My whole appointment took maybe 15 minutes. The sono was 2 or 3 minutes long, then I waited for the doc for almost 10 minutes, and then he talked to me for 2 or 3 minutes to tell me that my numbers were good and to try to feel the top of my uterus below my belly button. I was actually disappointed at how quick it was! I wanted to watch my baby on that screen for so much longer!

Really? 2 to 3 minutes??
the 12 ween NT scan..... when they check all parts of the baby?
she measured everything... the head, stomach, arms, legs, brain, head, heart, kidney, etc. she looked at and measured all the internal and external body parts.

Did they do all that with you?

It was like a mini version of the Level 2 for me.

you have NT scan's twice a week?
Or do you just have regular sonos twice a week?

For my NT scan they measured everything internally and externally. It was only done once around the 12 week mark.

Re: question about NT scan

Mine was really long because the baby did not cooperate whatsoever. I think the first scan was about 45 minutes and then we had to go back a second time since they couldn't get one of the measurements.

Same, only we didn't have to go back! Actually, I think mine may have been more like an hour!! (I also had to use the bathroom 3 times in between since she was pressing hard on my stomach!!)
