Looking to spend <$1000 on Treadmill. Need Recs please
I would like a 60" belt since Im tall (5 9") & have at least a 2.0 HP motor. A good warranty. Dont need all the bells and whistles just a good sturdy one incline walking and running.
Thanks!

I posted the same question the other day...not to many responses....
I Have been doing a lot of research on different treadmills for under a $1000 and get a lot of mixed reviews...
From what I read, Proform is a good brand for "inexpensive" treadmills around the $600-$900 range. You can order directly from thier website...free shipping and no tax.
I still have not come up with the one I want yet.
Maybe you will get some good replies.

I believe the one that is in our basement collecting dust for the past couple of years is a Proform.
My advice is to use the one at the gym.......
Save your money!

Re: Looking to spend <$1000 on Treadmill. Need Recs please
I have a Proform - the one we have was on sale at the time, it retailed for over $1500 and we got it for $899 no tax, free shipping. The week after we bought it, price went back up. So far, works well. Is it top-notch like a gym treadmill? No, but it does the job and is convenient. Proform is a popular in-home brand. I couldn't justify spending over $1,000, especially since I am at just as much risk of something going wrong with an expensive one. What I like about mine is that the belt is about 5 inches longer than most standard treadmills.

I agree with other posters that Proform is a good brand. The one we had was a spacesaver model which was great if you have kids you don't want playing on it. Whichever model or brand you choose, my advice would include to make sure you have a surge protector in the outlet its plugged into or you could fry the motor. I speak from experience on that one.

I think I have narrowed down my choice to ProForm...I like that there is no shipping charge or tax...Now I just have to decide which model...

I think I have decided on the ProForm Performance 400. The price is $599 free shipping and no tax...
It seems to have gotten a good review from what I have been reading...
Hopefully it doesn't become an expensive clothes hanger...

I fyou are going to use it for running - make sure the belt is at least 20" some of the less expensive ones are 18. Fine for walking, but not for running.

The measurements are 20X55...not a big fan of running....mostly what I do is fast walking...
Looking to burn a lot of calories....I have a spin bike, but spinning by yourself is not a lot of fun...hopefully the treadmill will do the trick....

I have a nordic Track from Sears that I love. I think I paid around $1,000 for it.
