Breast Pump...FSA eligible?
I thought i read earlier this year that breast pumps and supplies are FSA eligible. I know the supplies are because i purchsed some but are the breast pumps like the Pump In Style Advanced and the Freestyle eligible too?

Re: Breast Pump...FSA eligible?
Im pretty sure you would need a prescription for anything to be FSA eligible since the New Year, but if you get a script, I don't see why it wouldn't be covered.

I didn't have to with the breast pump supplies. I just had to submit the recipt for reimbursement. The list we got at the beginning of the year only gave a few items that you needed a script for, which mostly were vitamins and certain OTC stuff.

Re: Breast Pump...FSA eligible?
I think a breast pump would qualify as medical equipment, right? My FSA plans says that you don't need a Rx for medical equipment.
HTH!

Can you buy it out of pocket and submit it for reimbursement? That is what i had to do for all the Medela pump supplies/accessories...

Same here. I had to buy the pump from BRU and then I sent the receipt and was reimbursed for it.

See we did that and they rejected it saying the pump wasn't covered. DH said they flat out told him it wasn't covered when he called. We are going to try and submit it again.

when was this? the law may have changed. my office manager actually recently mentioned to me that it's covered, and i verified it by checking with the health care expense table that lists all the covered benefits. I would definitely resubmit it.

Re: Breast Pump...FSA eligible?
It was def after the new law bc my mil bought us the pump and gave us the receipt w a copy of the article about it being covered. I think DH got someone who didn't know what was going on. I told him to try to re submit it.
