For those who got pregnant after miscarriage....

Hi ladies,

My stay here has been extremely short, as I'm in the process of miscarrying (very early--I would have been 5 weeks tomorrow). I have a few questions for those of you that have already been through this.

1. Did your dr. make you wait before trying again?
2. Were your cycles different after the mc? and
3. How long did it take you to get pregnant again?

Doctor did not make me wait but every doctor is different My SIL just had MC and the doctor asked her to wait 3 cycles before trying again.

My cycles were not different after the MC

It took me 3 months to get pregnant again but I did not try the first month for personal reasons. So technically two months of trying.

I had a very early mc at 5 weeks right before I got pg with this one. That cycle was completely off by like two weeks the next cycle, the cycle I got pg was off again by two weeks...I honestly have no clue how I got pg bc I had no idea when I ovulated!!! but it took us essentially the mc cycle to wait and then got pg the next cycle!

I am sorry to hear this. I lost my pregnancy at 17 weeks and got pregnant 3 months later, and am currently 36 weeks along. Doctor said to wait at least 2 menstrual cycles.

Im very sorry for your loss. I also had a 5 week loss nack in december.

1. My dr did not make me wait at all to try again. I think that since it was so early and the body miscarries on its own they say its simliar to getting your period, so no need to wait. At least thats what my dr. said.

2. My cycles went right back on track the next month.

3. We got a BFP three months later in March.

I had two "chemicals" last year in February and June. Both ended around 5 weeks. The doctor never told me to wait to try again, so we didn't. I got PG this time around in September and am now 31 weeks. Keep hope! It will happen.

My dr. didnt tell me to wait bc I lost the baby early, around 6 weeks, but I waited until I got my first AF and then we tried again and got pregnant on the first try. I'm now 38 weeks.

Ive had two MC's - first time i was far along so i needed a D&C second was a chemical at 5 wks. After i finished bleeding i waited 1 cycle which was Oct & then i was prego by Nov..

I am so sorry Comeonnumbertwo. I had a miscarriage 3 months ago at 9 weeks so I know how you feel.

I was told to wait 3 cycles after having a d&c. We tried this month but nothing. With my last pregnancy it happened on the first shot. I don't know how long it will take this time, all I know is that I am way stressed and the first time I wasn't stresed at all. I'm not sure if trying to hard or stress plays a factor in conceiving but if it does I'm screwed.

I'm a little nervous after having a d&c, I hope everything is okay in there.

I'm curious to see the responses. Hopefully we both get better luck soon.

I miscarried October 23, 2005(at 7 weeks 4 days along) and was pregnant immediately after. According to my early ultrasound I concieved November 1, 2005. We planned on waiting one cycle(as recommended by the doctor) but I ovulated earlier then I thought was even possible. I went on to have a healthy pregnancy.

I am so sorry for your loss!

I had a loss at 15 weeks. I had to deliver and then have a D&C (due to placenta not coming out). It was our first preganancy and very difficult. We waited two cycles per doctors orders.

I am so happy to share my hope with you though because I just got a BFP on Sunday! It's early but I'm grateful and hopeful!

I wish you all the best and try to stay hopeful and trust in God! And do alot of once the doctor says its okay!

Oh yeah, my gf had a very early loss and got a BFP the very next cycle! Calls her daughter a miracle baby!

1. Dr told us to wait 1 cycle. My mc was a little bit later than yours and I had to have a DNC.

2. My cycles were more or less the same after the mc. I have longer type cycles.... and they can and do vary... and that was the same before and after mc.

3. It took us 9+ months of trying to finally get a BFP again.

I'm so sorry you have to go through this. I know it's hard.

I'm so sorry that you had to go through that...even at 5 weeks (which is when I had one) its so painful!

But everything happens for a reason and it wasn't meant to be!

My doctor actually said there is new research that shows you don't have to wait. The only thing they wanted me to do was get one period. I got one period and we got pregnant right away!I don't think my cycles changed at all because I was originally due beginning of April and my new due date is beginning of June.

My OB made me wait 3 cycles before trying again. I had a D & C done. My cycles were out of whack after the MC.
It took me 4 months before getting BFP.

my Dr. advised at least 2 weeks of no after the D&C due to higher risk of infection. he did reccomend waiting til after first cycle to try again but ultimately said "if your body is ready it will happen and one miscarriage does not heighten your risk of a second" my cycles went back to normal and it took me 7.5 months to get pregnant again.

I will say...i put a tremendous amount of stress on myself to get pregnant again before my due date. it wasn't until my due date came and went and i had to face it that i got pregnant again. I ended up conceiving the weekend after my due date. so my advice to you is...relax...and try not to go back into TTC with the expectation of getting pregnant right away and before your original due date.
