expediting passport question
My husbands passport expires the day before we return home from our trip. So he needs to get his renewed. Our trip is next month and we have more than 14 days. But none of the appointments will take you before the 14 days. He wants to get it taken care of now. But my understanding is if he does it the regular way, then it will take like 4-6 weeks, which will be too late.
I have heard about expiditing it. Anyone have any insight on how this works? Would he get his passport in time doing it this way?
Thanks!!

Re: expediting passport question
we went to the lindenhurst post office to get ours 6 weeks before we left for our honeymoon with the intent to get them expidited and the gentleman there processing them said that we definitely did not need to do that as they were processing them rather quickly at that time...they generally know how quickly they are going through, or how slowly and can pretty much tell you there....we got ours in 15 days with a regular application and my husband is a naturalized citizen through adoption.... good luck and enjoy your trip!

Re: expediting passport question
you can pay for an expediting service. I did that - very pricey but worth it if you're in a rush. I paid a few hundred to have my passport in 2 days.
