sleeping and feeding question - awould like some adivce/opinions
DD is about 2 1/2 monts old. She has been STTN for at least the past 8 weeks.( i know we are lucky) We started a routine of giving her a bath and then bottle.
During the day she has been drinking almost 5.5 ounces every feeding and she feeds every 3 hours (yesterday she was drinking almost 6 ounces). Her last bottle could be anywhere from 2-5 ounces thouh lately its been more towards the 5 ounces.
We started the bed time routine at 11 at night and she would sleep till we woker her up at 6:30 we then moved it up till 10 and she stil slept till we woke her up at 6:30
We tried to start the routine at 9:30 on friday night and it back fired she woke up at 5:30 am so we back to our 10:00 sleep routine last night.
However she woke up in the middle of the night; it was DH night and he fed her a bottle she feel asleep but he said she woke up again a half a hour later and he had to rock her back to sleep
Now i know this could have been a one night thing but just in case its not I dont want to start any bad habbits .
If she does wake up again in the middle of the night should I not feed her and ,just giver her her pacifier and just try rub her stomach since i know she can sleep with out having a night bottle?
TIA

Re: sleeping and feeding question - awould like some adivce/opinions
I am def no expert (first time around and my DD is 3 months!) but my situation was very similar to you a few weeks ago (same schedule, same feedings). I was trying to change her schedule and it totally backfired!! I asked my ped the same thing and she said if she has consistently been able to sleep thru the night, then she is able to go w/out eating. I just usually try everything possible before giving in to a bottle...binky, rocking, noise machine....sometimes it's frustrating bc I have to get up several times before she goes back to sleep but I just tell myself it's for the greater good! I don''t want her getting used to getting that middle of the night feeding again.
btw, she is now sleeping 8-5 or sometimes 6 am!! She made her own bedtime earlier and earlier and it didn't affect how late she slept....I just had to be patient!
