Those w/ #2 or more?

Do you feel like you're more relaxed this time around. I'm 28 weeks and I haven't even looked at cribs or dressers yet. By this point with #1 everything was in place pretty much.

I just feel like I'm not a worry wart and I'm ok with that.

Yup, same here... I'm 23 weeks and just the other day I told DH we should start looking at double strollers and big boy furniture for DS.
Honestly, I don't see us getting to that in the next few weeks. LOL!

I'm lucky I remember to take my prenatal Vits

Re: Those w/ #2 or more?

This is so me!! At this point with DS everything was DONE! I am 30 weeks. Even my bag was packed sitting on the floor and good thing cause he came 5 weeks early!
But this time around DH just finished the room and the furniture will be delivered Saturday. But I have not bought a single thing yet!! I am actually now starting to stress about it since I have been so layed back about it for 6 months!!

Re: Those w/ #2 or more?

I told DH I feel very unprepared this time. We are having another boy, so there isn't much shopping to do. But we do need to get DS big boy furniture. We bought a double stroller on sale a few weeks ago. We still need a bunch of odds and ends.

Part of the issue is that we are doing construction on our house and it hasn't started yet and it includes two new bedrooms which will be for the kids. So literally the rooms aren't ready yet.

Yes! I am 38 weeks and the nursery is still not "finished", the car seat is not installed, and my hospital bag is only about 75% packed! But, I have everything that I need at my house. I am really hoping to finish everything this weekend!

I am only 20w but I had everything picked out and set up when I was pregnant with DS. I was team green last time so I was thinking that is why. This time I am in no rush to get a stroller or anything.

Re: Those w/ #2 or more?

Nope, i want everything done NOW. I am 16 weeks, we bought the crib and changing table which are upsatirs, bedding will be here today and we will start painting the room (because that will be a big project) in 2 weeks. My pregnancy is getting more and more complicated so i have a feeling as i progress more i will not be able to do much so i want to get it done now.

Yes, I think it's because we know those things aren't important when the baby first comes home.

Plus, I want to stretch this pregnancy out as long as possible, as it is 99.9% sure it's my last.

Re: Those w/ #2 or more?

With some things I have been. But I am also having twins and my OB keeps reminding me things could change at the drop of a hat so I have been trying to stay on my game with preparing.

Re: Those w/ #2 or more?

This baby will be here in under 5 weeks and we have NOTHING done. I have all the new baby stuff in 2 rubbermaid bins in the basement...nothing is washed or in place. DS is moving to a big boy room and new baby will get the nursery, but we havent even started DSs room so the nursery has no crib etc.

I am beyond laid back this time around. Last time I was pretty relaxed but DS was due around Christmas so I wanted things in place with the holiday and such. So things were done in advance.

This time Nothing is going to be ready. I told my MIL that I have things set aside but she should know that DH might bring them over for her to wash because at he pace I am moving nothing is going to be ready on time!

And if I go earlier than my scheduled c we are all in trouble!Chat Icon

This is what I was saying to a friend just the other day.... With #1 you think you will need everythign from the day you bring baby home.

With #2 you realize that isnt quite the case.

Re: Those w/ #2 or more?

yes I am unprepared. I mean I am only 22 weeks so I have plenty of time but I cant see myself starting to get everything ready until at least 30+ weeks unlike last time.
The big thing for me is by this time last pregnancy we had the name picked and were totally sure of it. This time I have ZERO clue on names and am starting to stress about it.

Re: Those w/ #2 or more?

yep, definitely more relaxed. AND i'm having the same gender, so I plan on just using everything I already have and getting DS1 a bed.
