my boss just asked if i was pregnant
I didn't want to tell anyone especially at work -- I am only 5 weeks 1 day and go to my first appt on the 28th at 6 w 4d.....
I work in a small office (15 people) and my boss came to our office to chat about some projects.... she sees Chocolate Milk on my desk and flat out asks if I am pregnant..... I can't lie... I didn't answer right away and she said " I knew it"!
She is very happy for me... but def. not the way i wanted her or my office mate to find out. I hope everything sticks...
Has something like this happened to anyone else?

I had no clue what to say -- and when I lie I get a HUGE grin on my face.
I work for a nonprofit and we have a lot of events coming up and she said perfect timing....because I will be able to be around for all of the events.
Don't get me wrong I really like her -- have worked here for 4 years in July -- but I was going to wait until the 2nd Tri to tell people at work.
Plus -- I don't know if I am going to come back.
Ugh -- today started out great.... and now I feel like somethings been taken away from me. Not sure if this makes sense.

one person at my office figured it out, when she was eating a mushroom slice, and i ran to the bathroom.
she's like "you ok? the smell of my pizza made you vomit?" and she gave me this smurk and I tried to say I have a bug. lol.
i think she knows im lying.

I know exactly what you mean.. announcing your pregnancy is something so special and personal.. family, friends and WORK as well.. I'm sorry she took that moment away from you.. but look at the bright side, because we can't go back.. you can take time off for appointments or just because you feel like it.. and she won't hold it against you..  smile.. its Friday.. enjoy your weekend..
I know you like her and she's a nice person, but she seems stupid and lacks etiquette..

That would totally bother me. Then again... I do know when something is a drop different and it seems to be (or supposed to be) the next step in your life everyone asks
This early I'd make a joke about it and say No. It's not right for you to answer and you should take it as a rhetorical question.
Just say... yeah, I'm about 9 months. Can't you tell. Laugh it off and just say No. We're going to see what happens and I'll let you know when.

if I had been prepared for the question to come up I totally would have joked and said I was 9 months... it just caught me so off guard I couldn't think fast enough and that little pause was enough to do it.
Oh well -- as Buttercup said -- it's Friday and I'm gonna smile and have a great weekend.....

I told my 2 immediate bosses at 13w and other people around the office sporadically after that. Nobody said a peep to me before that although I wonder if people were suspicious.

I agree it was rude of her to ask, but I 10000% wish I was able to get it out in the open so quickly and easily. It was torture telling my boss, and he hasn't been so nice about it.
I also didn't know choc milk was a sign of pregnancy...LOL!

One of my co-workers was fishing for info before I hit the 12 week mark, not bc I was showing but bc I was wearing a loose top? I didnt know that meant u were preggers.

How does chocolate milk = pregnant???
It didn't happen to me but my friend was puking in the bathroom and someone asked her if she was pregnant. She had to say yes.

Too funny -- I guess in 12-15 weeks we will find out! I drink it b/c I need to get calcium and I hate milk and chocolate milk is the only way I can drink it 
I used to drink coffee in the am... OJ is not for me in the am... so choc milk it is

I had a classroom full of students ask me last spring at 9wks if I was pregnant. I said yes....... however....... the next time that happens I will just say no until I'm ready! I used to feel funny about denying a pregnancy, although I don't feel that way anymore and I feel like it doesn't matter at all and ultimately you should just stick to the story you are most comfortable with!

it def. is a little rude that she would ask you that flat out. Maybe she was just really excited at the thought of you being preg. DH and I were at a family event last week and someone asked us that. I lied, but wasnt bothered. I could tell they are so excited for us to have children.
I wound up telling my principal this week around 5 weeks. I had to ask to come in late bc the RE only makes sono appts in the am. I have been through a lot bc of infertil.ity issues and i fileld her in a bit and she was super nice and helpful. So, when I told her I was preg. she said I can come in late and not take the time from me. It can have its benefits depending on your boss.
