Anyone ever register with Amazon?
How does that work? If you have to return something, do they refund the person who bought it or do you get a refund to get something else for the baby? I can't seem to find that answer on the website...
TIA!

Re: Anyone ever register with Amazon?
I registered through Amazon. I haven't had to return any items I received from that registry, though.
Their customer service has been wonderful when I had some questions about items I placed on the registry, so I would contact them directly and ask them.

I'm registered with them and didn't even think about this. I would assume it's similar to their gift return in that the person returning the gift gets an amazon gift card. I could be wrong though...

Re: Anyone ever register with Amazon?
I registered with amazon -- loved the whole experience!
Just ordered $350 worth of items for my registry completion, too! (I had a $250 gift card to use that someone gave me!) I signed up for amazon mom a few weeks before I spent all that money and got a whole year of amazon prime (free shipping and 2 day delivery) for a year because of it!
I got one item from amazon sent from someone that I did not want/need (it was a jumperoo, but I have one already) -- she did not order it from my registry, but returning it was SO simple. I went online and put in the order # and it gave me two options -- I bring it to the PO and mail it back and they refund me the entire price plus shipping or for $6 the UPS guy comes back to my house and picks up the package. I opted for the $6 pick-up (I still got a $60 credit for the item -- the $6 was taken off the price of the item originally) since I have a 10-week old at home. Worked out great! Two days later, amazon sent me an email with the gift card # for the credit amount.
I'm about to order some more items now with the credit.
I loved having an amazon registry! A lot of people bought me things I wanted from it (and you can prioritize by "must have" "like to have" etc) and I used it as a shopping list for everything else I wanted -- especially after the baby was born! In fact, I still throw stuff on my registry there that I want to keep an easy list lol.

Re: Anyone ever register with Amazon?
I am. Here is their policy:
Can I return gifts purchased from my baby registry? Returning gifts is simple. Visit our Online Returns Center to print out a mailing label, and then mail the package back to Amazon.com. Don't forget to save your packing slip, as it's helpful to have the Order ID handy when you request the mailing label. Once the return is received, you'll be sent a check or an Amazon.com Gift Certificate for the value of your return. (Don't worry--the gift giver won't know the gift was returned!) Please visit our Gift Returns Help pages to get all the details.

Re: Anyone ever register with Amazon?
I registered with Amazon and have had a good experience so far...they have a much better selection and often better prices than BRU (where I also registered), I believe you can return items directly to them. This is what their policy says.
"To receive FREE 365-Day Returns on your eligible Baby Store baby product(s):
1. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may return the eligible baby product(s) in new and unopened condition within 365 days from date of delivery for a full refund in accordance with the promotional terms and conditions below.
2. Just visit our online Returns Center at www.amazon.com/returns and we will guide you through the process and even supply you with a prepaid return mailing label you can print out.
3. Amazon will process your return and issue a full refund with no deduction for shipping after receiving your return of the new eligible baby product(s)."
