High iron foods

Besides red meat & spinach, what else is high in iron...

My ob mentioned that my iron level was fine,but that it was much higher at the start of my pregnancy than it is now, & that I should eat iron rich foods to keep it from dropping more.

Green leafy veggies (spinach, broccoli)
Shrimp
Raisin Bran cereal

You could also start taking an iron supplement.

To boost the amount of iron in your diet, try these foods:

Red meat
Egg yolks
Dark, leafy greens (spinach, collards)
Dried fruit (prunes, raisins)
Iron-enriched cereals and grains (check the labels)
Mollusks (oysters, clams, scallops)
Beets
Beans, lentils, chick peas and soybeans
Artichokes

And here's a tip: If you eat iron-rich foods along with foods that provide plenty of vitamin C, your body can better absorb the iron.
