Yup, yup!! I've already got an empty bag packed in my hospital bag for the sole purpose of filling with their stuff. Even our lamaze teacher, who is a nurse at our hospital, told us to empty the cart each night.

Just fyi... they charged me for EVERYTHING whether I took it or not. From pads to the sitz bath to the tucks in the bathroom...

best things I got were the two peri bottles! I now fill them and spray DD in her infant bath lol.

They charge you for EVERYTHING in your room that they give you. The nurse and my OB used a tiny tiny cup of mineral oil to try to prevent the need for an episiotomy and it's on my itemized hospital bill. Nothing is EVER "free" just FYI.

Oh I plan on packing some empty target bags so DH can go home every night with 'supplies' the Midwife at my OB's office told me that once it is in your room they can't put in another patients so take it all. So per her advice I plan to take as much as I can. Chat Icon Chat Icon

I'm out of state now.

My insurance covered almost everything. But we got an itemized bill to use towards our deductible. Every motrin cost $4.44 and every colase cost $1.44.

I had a vbirth no drugs and the total hospital bill was under $8k -- I had to pay $2400 (our yearly deductible is $3k). Extremely extremely inexpensive!! lol... but they still charge you for every little thing.

We have still not gotten DD's hospital bill yet (she's 10 weeks today). I took about 4 extra diapers that were in her bassinet and 2 small packages of wipes that were already open and in there. I also took one of the receiving swaddle blankets they had her in even though they told me not to take any linens. Chat Icon My friend had said she regretted not taking that blanket so I did.

Re: Heads up from Parenting regarding hospital stay

Winthrop ROCKS and tells you to take what you can.

What they do is pretty much throw out all after you leave anyways.

My recent visit, my DS was sick...I had a nurse pack diapers, formula, nose suckers..shes said take it all! Chat Icon
