If anyones husband has gone through a deployment..
Can you let me know? I would love to have a group of other women to talk to about this.
This is VERY raw to me and i'm a ball of nerves right now. The thing i am most scared of is him getting there safely. I will be SICK until i know he's arrived.
Any advice for me? Any social sites i can get involved with?
TIA!!!!

Me
Will he have ability to call you whenever he wants? Or have access to e-mail?
Also, it may help to find out ahead of time items that you can ship over there, and what you can't (they may have certain requirements)
You can look forward to sending "love boxes", filled with pictures your kids made, etc.
Is he going to be there the entire time or does his contract allow him to come home at a half-way point?

From what i know yes he has email and we can skype. I am hoping...
He will be there the whole time. Which honestly is prob better for me..I think saying goodbye again would be hard for the boys (and me)

Been there... feel free to FM if you ever need to talk to someone
Are there other families in your area that have been through the same exact thing - coworker's wives you might be friendly with and can talk to?

Re: If anyones husband has gone through a deployment..
6 months while I was pregnant with my first. He actually missed the birth. He was in training so we couldn't even talk on the phone regularly. We spoke maybe once a month. It was tough but not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I have always been a pretty independent person though, so I was okay being by myself all that time.
He is going away this summer for another 4-8 weeks. Should be interesting with a 2 year old and a 10 month old at home!!!
At least the weather is getting nicer so you can do things outside with the kids (at least that is what I am telling myself, lol).
Feel free to FM anytime!

OMG Maureen, he decided to go for the training?
I pray for his safe arrival and quick return and for you all to get through this. Before you know it, he'll be back and you'll have to strain to remember what it was like without him there.
I haven't gone through it but am here if you need a shoulder. Lord knows you've been there for me
