If your DC had blood/mucus in stool, come in
Was it almost always from milk protein/soy allergy? Or another food?
Just came from 2 mth appt and had the dr test her stool and it was positive for blood. About a month ago, she had green mucusy stools for about a week. I cut out dairy and nuts (because I was eating a ton of PB) and they went back to yellow a week later. But I still thought they looked mucusy sometimes. I haven't had pure dairy in a month, but I've fallen off the wagon a few times with chocolate. I'm wondering if that was enough to irritate her or if it's another food I'm eating? The dr wants me to go strict no dairy and retest at the next visit. She didn't mention soy, but from what I've seen on here, they tend to go hand and hand so I'll cut that too. I don't eat soy products, but I've probably had some processed products that contain it.
She doesn't seem fussy anymore and is gaining great. If I wasn't always inspecting her diapers b/c of the green history, I prob wouldn't have said anything to dr. But clearly, I definitely need to change something in my diet.

For us, it was a milk protein allergy. But it could also be C-Diff. The doctor should test for that as well.
If she has the milk protein allergy, you must cut out all dairy and soy. My GI had me cut out nuts and seafood and at first eggs. It is hard, but it gets easier. Now I do it as a lifestyle choice!
Here was the list I received to help- Dairy Milk Casein Whey Soy Soy Lecithin Seafood Nuts
Check the back of EVERYTHING. When you go out, speak to the waiter or chef and let them know you have the allergy (trust me, you don't want to explain that it is your child and you are BFing. This is shorter)
There are great replacement products. Even for Chocolate! I found this bar by Enjoy Life called Choco Boom-it is made with rice milk rather than dairy milk.
Unfortunately you have to be very strict. This will take some time to clear up and the dairy will cause your DC to get bumps in the rectum forcing them to strain and make the bumps bleed, hence the blood.
I am a milk protein allergy mom, so if you have questions, feel free to FM me

It was a milk protein allergy for us - DD had to go on Alimentum (I was not BF). Once we made the switch, she got better though it probably took a little time for everything to get out of her system.
