NPR - Scary morning

I drove my husband to work this morning. After I dropped him off, I was driving home and as I was coming down a block, there was a man standing out in the street, whistling at cars as they went by and kind of stumbling. I drove past him but got stuck at the next red light. I had a weird feeling and so I checked to make sure my doors were locked. As I am doing this, the guy comes running down the block toward my car, tries opening the doors and banging on the windows! I couldn't just drive away because there was a bus in front of me so I start honking my horn and he is shouting at me and trying to get in my car.

I was so freaked out. I thank God I made sure that my doors were locked. There are too many crazy people out there!

OMG I would have driven away and called the cops.

Thank god your doors were locked. This happened to me once before DH and I were married. I was leaving his house and some guy was in the middle of the street and he did the same exact thing to me. He went to open the door and my doors weren't locked yet because they didn't lock until I went 10 miles per hour and I had just pulled away from the house. The light was red so I just went through it. DH called the cops on the guy but I don't think they ever found him. I know how scared you must have been, it's def a horrible feeling. I just can't believe someone did this in broad day light. I now lock my doors the second I get into the car every time.

OMGG That is sooo scary!! I would have bugged out. Thank God you trusted your instincts and locked your doors. How horrible!!

Thanks ladies! Please be careful and make sure you keep your doors locked. It's terrible that we have to worry about things like this but it's more important to keep ourselves safe!


I called the cops as soon as I drove away. I really hope they find the guy. I think he may have been on drugs or something because after I pulled way, he continued to stand in the middle of the street and going up to other cars.

Instincts are really amazing sometimes. I thank God he was watching over me and my little girl. Maybe with all this excitement she'll decide to show up sooner rather than later

That is really scary. I automatically lock the doors when I get in the car.
