when should my rsvp date be?
my shower is june 11th. do you think making the rsvp date may 13th is ok? we're having it in my backyard so i need to make sure i have enough time to order a tent, tables, chairs, food, favors, centerpieces, etc...

my shower is the 26th and the rsvp is the 12th

It seems like a large gap to me. I would say the last week in May. The tent you can order ahead of time, and you can just give them an idea of how many chairs you will need. Same with food, you will probably just have to guarantee a minimum and you can confirm the week before.

I think it is more important to have the invites out early since June is a busy month with graduations, communions, proms, etc.
If it were me and the shower was June 11th, I'd probably have the RSVP date 3 weeks before (May 21st) and have the invites in the mail by April 30th.

yeah, i was planning to send them out the last week of april. 3 weeks before sounds better than 4 weeks.

My shower is June 4th and we made my RSVP May 14th, If for some reason someone is up in the air about coming I am sure it will will only be a couple people, not enough to make a difference.

That seems way early for an RSVP. I would say 2 weeks prior is better.

i would do 2-3 weeks max. why not call the tent places with an estimate and then tell them you'll let them know closer to teh date

ITA, I would say 2 weeks, 3 weeks max; but I do agree with the above poster about sending them out in April since June is a busy month. You might even want to spread the word to whoever you can just by word of mouth.

haha! i just like to get things done early!
i ordered the invites last night and used an rsvp date of may 21st. i'll mail them out the last week of april. and i know my mom already spread the word on the date to some family and my MIL told some people too. fun stuff!

I am sooo jealous that you are having a backyard party...that is what I wanted, but my mom squashed the idea because the amount of "work" it would be....
