My parents are selling their house and had an Open House yesterday - well when they came home my mother found some good jewlery was stolen. She has a jewlery chest in her bedroom that is like a piece of furniture, and someone had opened the drawers of it and rummaged through it. What is really upsetting is that she had removed her jewlery box on her nightstand and the real estate agent had PROMISED my parents that she would be with the people at all times and everything would be safe. They had the police over last night. I just feel bad for my mom. I cant believe this happened! More than losing the jewlery, my parents feel sooo violated.

omg that's terrible! whenever i went to open houses, the agents usually followed us around depending on how many people were looking at the house at once.

When I was a kid that happened to an old neighbor, her engagement ring was stolen while htey were showing their house.
People are just not nice!!!

That really stinks - I am sorry your parents had to go through that. Most of the houses that I looked at were empty, but if there was more than 1 preson looking the agent didn't really keep an eye on people

 I'm so sorry to hear that, how awful! I would be LIVID at the agent! It's so sickening what some people will do. I wonder if they were really house hunting or just going to open houses to rob people? I guess this serves as a really sad but valuable lesson.
