Backsplash Q
So I love DIY and HGTV and one thing I've noticed that seems to be a new trend is a stone backsplash. Now, it looks beautiful, but it also looks like it defeats the whole purpose of a backsplash being an easy to clean surface to wipe up *splashes*. How is this surface easy to clean?
This is the type of stone I am talking about as a reference. It's a rough surface.

LOVE that look - but I agree, I would imagine it would be hard to clean, no?
especially if water splashed on it, then some parts of it would be darker due to being wet......
looks beautiful though, and I wouldn't rule it out.

I put something like this in my kitchen (just a little different shape to the stones). It's really not that hard to clean at all. We are cooking/baking all the time so I would tell you if it was a real PIA...b/c we make a mess.
It looks awesome and people always comment on how nice it is.
