Question for those who used to have not so great credit
How long did it take you to clean it up? How long after that were you able to get a mortgage?
DH has been really working on getting his credit score up so we can apply for a mortgage. I just wanted to know a general time frame for this to happen. it's really just OLD stuff that he needs to get rid of and so far so good

Re: Question for those who used to have not so great credit
Have you talked to a mortgage professional to see whether his credit is truly an obstacle to getting a mortgage? I know that FHA has lower minimum credit requirements than Fannie Mae/conventional. But obviously, if you meet the minimum credit score to qualify for a mortgage, you won't get the best interest rates.
Assuming your DH's credit is so low that he cannot qualify, a lot of mortgage professionals can recommend credit repair services that can help speed the process of raising your credit score. How long it takes depends on the nature of the credit problems, but I would say on average, about a year.
Good luck!

Continetal home loans will go as long as 580
I would speak to a mortgage banker asap
they can tell you what you need to do to get your score up - and they have a credit repair specialist in house
let me know if you would like some recommendations
