Was there a point where your pregnancy flew by??

I am 9W5D pregnant and time seems to be crawling.

People have told me it goes slow in the beginning then seems to fly by, then time seems to stand still again at the end. Chat Icon

Is there any truth to this ladies? If so share w/me when it sped up for you Chat Icon

I actually think most of my pregnancy flew by. I had a great pregnancy so it seemed to move rather quickly. Until those dreaded last few weeks. They felt like months lol. The end is the worse, well atleast for me and I delivered at 37 weeks so to think I could have waited 3 to 4 more weeks is ubsurd in my mind. All you girls who went past your due date, I feel for you Chat Icon

FYI, I had a scheduled section, so I knew when my son was going to be born and I think that's part of the reason the time flew by. Also, he was born on New Year's Eve, so the end of my pregnancy was during the holidays. For me the time between Thanksgiving and New Year's always flies by because there are a million things to do!

Re: Was there a point where your pregnancy flew by??

I think that's incredibly accurate (for me it is at least). The first trimester was the WORST! it went so incredibly slow and I was a nervous wreck the entire time (from previous losses). Once i got into the 2nd trimester, my goodness, blink and it's over. 3rd Trimester came and time continued to move steadily, until I reached 30 weeks. I was 10 weeks to my due date and SURE it would go quick, but nope! Total standstill. It doesn't even make logical sense. Once i got to the end (34+ weeks) somehow it started to feel like I was on a treadmill - I was getting nowhere. The days & weeks were going by pretty quick, but it was as though my Due Date would move with it - like it was something imaginary I could NEVER reach. And now it doesn't help that I'm a week late.

The first trimester was slow for me too. I just kept wishing I was further along so I wouldn be so nervous all the time. Now I am 20 weeks and it has definitely been going by faster!

My whole pregnancy went pretty quick. I cannot believe I have 7 weeks left. It's been a fairly easy pregnacy despite a few minor things but overall I can't complain! It went fast!!!

Its flying for me! I have a DD already and she keeps me very busy so I sometimes even forget I am pregnant! I cant believe I am halfway through already! When I was pregnant with DD though, I had time on my hands and it seemed to crawl.

Re: Was there a point where your pregnancy flew by??

i won't lie, my first one went pretty slow. I'm really hoping this one will go faster since it my 2nd and i'm busy with DS no. 1.

I do think in general the 1st trimester does go the slowest. So maybe after your 1st trimester it will go faster for you!

Re: Was there a point where your pregnancy flew by??

First Trimester went by very slowly. I blinked and the second one was over. Then all of a sudden I was at 34 weeks. Now I'm in this weird period of it seems to be going insanely slow and insanely fast all at the same time. Every Monday it seems like it was forever since the last Monday, but then all of a sudden it is the weekend already and almost Monday (the day my weeks 'switch').

3rd trimester flew!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think part of the reason it went so fast though is because my 3rd tri started around Thanksgiving-so the holiday season was super busy and made the time go fast. Plus I delivered at 37 1/2 weeks.

The 1st trimester went so slowly, but from 20 weeks on it has flown! I can't believe I only have 8 or so weeks left!

Re: Was there a point where your pregnancy flew by??

It's definitely progressing... I can't believe that I am almost 16w and remember being SO excited about hitting the 9w mark

However, I feel like other people's pregnancies are progressing more quickly! It's crazy to me that certain people are now 30+ weeks along already! the same thing with people who I just remember getting their BFP and now they are 9-10 weeks along!

Maybe it's like getting older... where you feel like you stopped aging at a certain point and everyone is catching up to you when really you are aging too?

IDK when I think about it, August, when I got my BFP seems sooooo long ago.

But I feel like I have hardly been pregnant at all!! Only a few weeks to go, and it is going so fast, I have a thousand things to get done and no time!!!

From 20 weeks on, the time has absolutely FLOWN! I think part of that may be because I was 20 weeks on Halloween and then with all of the holidays, the time has certainly zipped by.

Re: Was there a point where your pregnancy flew by??

1st trimester dragged. It was 3 months just filled with mixed emotions and second guessing.

Second trimester definitely moved along.

And now I'm like halfway done with the third trimester and realized it sped along as well.

But I don't think in the moment any of it really went fast. Just looking back I think "wow, can't believe I am this far along already".

First tri was a snooze fest! Now, at 26 weeks when we are really starting to get prepared I feel like time is starting to really speed up, especially since we just started getting the nursery prepped. I'm sure the last few weeks will be a drag again, though!
