as of now we are going to have DD's 3rd birthday party at our house. it will be early May and will be outside. i'll put a raindate on invitation.
this is her "friend" party.

what activities can we do??? it will be mostly 3 year olds, plus a few 2 and 4 year olds.

here's what i figured for now:
outside toys (rollar coaster, sand table, cars, scooters, etc...)
Sand Art (do this as an activity and can double as a favor)

do i need more???

think it's going to be a disney princess theme but that will have to just be the decorations since it will be a boy and girl party. otherwise i would have done a real "princess" party with dress up but DD has too many boy friends that we would have to leave out.

Maybe set up like little areas for different things?

A table with bubbles
Art/craft table
Balls
Sand table
Play doh, etc.

You could do a cookie party where you make sugar cookies in advance and the kids decorate them with icing. They even make magic marker like edible ink pens they can use.

But outside that may draw bees--maybe do a simple craft, sand art is great, painting could be fun too if it's outside, and I would put out a sprinkler for the kids if it's warm enough. Lots of outside toys, and I think you are done.

A scavenger hunt around the yard-like an egg hunt but with something else hidden. For DDs, we did monkeys.

A pin the tail on the donkey type of game.
