Girls with curly hair: how often do you go for a trim?

If you like to keep you hair fairly long--to the shoulders or longer-low often do you get it trimmed?

I TRY to go every six months, but I really need to go more often than that ... I last went in August and my hair is looking very ratty.

Before my wedding, I hadn't had a legitimate haircut in about three years. I always said I wanted my hair as long as could be for my wedding ... but it looked AWFUL!

I go every 8 weeks or so or it loses its shape.

My hair is curly and thick, shoulder length. I go every 4-6 weeks or it is out of control.

I was told to go no longer than 8 weeks - I tend to go every 5-6 months.

My hair needs a cut and needs one bad! i look like a freakin lion! The thing is since my hair is long, the weight keeps my hair down, so some days i like it and some days it can not be tamed at all

I usually go every 2-3 months. I am actually going this week, and it has been about 9 weeks since my last cut.

I usually get it cut when I need my highlights touched up - every 4 ish months?

Or whenever my sister/stylist is free and is over the fact that my hair looks like crap

I now go once a year... Before I went without cutting my hair for 3 years.

The last time I went was in the beginning of December and I feel like I need another trim again, which is why I asked. Based on everyone's response, every 3 months is not too often. It's just that the the desire for another trim so soon after the last one caught me completely off guard!

every other month I would say..def if I am getting a blow out because then you notice the dead ends
