Christening Question
So another post on here sparked me to write this post....(I'm on a roll tonight!) I am jewish and DH is catholic. We've both agreed to raise the baby in his religion, but I am not planning on converting. Does anyone know how this works with the church? Will I have a problem being a part of the ceremony given I'm not catholic?
Thanks for the info....we're starting to work all of this out before our LO arrives.

Re: Christening Question
It hard to say as each church is different your best bet is to call the parish you plan on baptizing DC and finding out their specific rules. Good luck

Re: Christening Question
Im like 99% sure it will be no problem at all. As long as DH is Catholic, I would adivse him to go join his local church so they have your family on record. I just did this and it was as simple as filling out a form. Also, I'm not sure when you are due, but my DH and I already attended a "class" at our church which provided info on the baptism. (Im not due until 5/31, and the baptism will be in August). If you call and talk to a church, you may even be able to schedule it now.
Also, I know at least 1 of the God parents will have to be Catholic and belong to a church as well.

You should have no problem. Defiantly contact your church( DH's parish) and set a date to speak to priest & they will give you all the info.. Hate to say it, but as long as you give a donation they let you do whatever you want! There is a baptism class you have to attend so find out when they are so you can get that done now & after you take the class they give you dates for baptism. That is how is worked for us! Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback....it's amazing how even in church a little money goes a long way! I'll definitely contact them tomorrow.

Re: Christening Question
Each parish is different. I am Jewish, DH is Catholic, we want to raise our children Catholic.
The first church we called (our local church) gave us a hard time.
But we ultimately found one a few towns away that was just happy to have us as part of their "family". They made it very simple for us to christen DS.
