Prenatal Vitamins-what kind do you take?
What kind of prenatal vitamins do you take?
I was taking one a day prenatals with dha and I liked it. My dr prescribed citranatal harmony, but it is $70 a month I started to take some of the samples he gave me and my body is not agreeing with it.

Prenexa-it has a plant based DHA in it because I have a shellfish allergy.

i take prenate elite, but the generic, which is only a $5 co-pay. I've had no problems with it at all - and i've been nauseous and/or throwing up for the past 2 weeks. never after my vitamin though

With the approval from my doctor, I take Target prenatals with the DHA supplement. Its sold as two separate packages, and is probably $10 a month (120 vitamins for $8 and the 30 day supply of DHA supplement $8)

What do you think the difference is between over the counter and prescription? I think every brand might have a little more of one vitamin than another but does it really make a difference which one you take?

What do you think the difference is between over the counter and prescription? I think every brand might have a little more of one vitamin than another but does it really make a difference which one you take?
Both of my OBGYNs (I switched at 10w) have said that if I have no side effects from the Target, it is the same as the prescribed brands. I think it is the preference of the doctor and how the vitamin reacts with the woman taking it.

I'm taking the Nature made brand w/ DHA. Got it at Costco. OB told me to also supplement that with an additional 400 ius of vitamin D. (to total 800 of vitamin D)

I was suffering and taking them for soo long but couldn't stand them anymore. I now take Prenate Essential and love them..no nastiness with them. I should of switched a lot sooner.

citranatal harmony has this gross vanilla flower taste. it is awful!

Now I take Prenate Essential.
It's one pill that has DHA in it as well. It's aqua and coated. It's the best prenatal I've taken so far. There's a sweet taste to it so when I take them it's not gross at all.
I was taking the heart ones... DHA something they were 2 pills with little hearts on them. They got hard to swallow because they were dry and had a not so nice taste to them when they touched my tongue.
I also took an over the counter one. Not too bad. But I prefer the Prenate ones.
My insurance doesn't cover "vitamins" so I have no insurance for them. The dr gave me an RX but he hands me boxes of them at apps so I don't have to pay for the RX.
