sitting in the waiting room
I am 25 weeks pregnant with twins and just started going to the Dr. Every week. That means hours and hours of waiting in the waiting room a week. I'm going crazy. Don't tell me its at 7 if I'm not getting in till 9. I'm starving and tired. Ugh, vent over.
Does anyone ever get right in?

Re: sitting in the waiting room
I'm sorry you're stuck in the waiting room!!
I feel like lately there are so many posts about Dr's office waits . It's like an epidemic.
ETA: I try to bring a snack with me all the time just in case I have to wait since I usually have really late appts and don't eat dinner until afterwards.

Re: sitting in the waiting room
I am sorry, I rarely seem to have a long wait at the doctors office. I am always in and out within an hour. Hopefully I didn't just jinx myself.

Re: sitting in the waiting room
That's why I switched practices, I always had to wait an hour. Now, within 10 minutes of getting there I am seen. I had to wait a bit longer once and they forwarned me that the doctor was running late and apologized...so nice!
Maybe you could call ahead and find out how late the doctor is running?

I came for a sono and when I got here I asked how many people are in front of me, and she said 1! I left work early and I'm missing a big work party in the city! Ugh its already been an hour.

Re: sitting in the waiting room
My appointments have varied from weekly to every 2 weeks. I have found getting the first appointment in the morning is the best. Less likely for the office to be running behind schedule.
Honestly, I have very little patience for waiting rooms these days with the amount of appointments I have. And if they had me waiting that long I'd complain!

Well am hour and a half later I actually started yelling, or talking very loudly and said I want to talk to my Dr. Immediately because I'm going to change practices. I can't sit in this waiting room every week like this! She sent me back right away! They had all these bs excuses.

I wish I could, but I live in Ronkonkoma, work in the city and my Dr is in Babylon. I am saving my days for maternity leave so all my appointments have to be after 8pm, except my Tues morning hi risk Dr. appointments since that is the only day he is there, which makes me late. Ugh lose lose

Re: sitting in the waiting room
that really stinks! i hate waiting like that.
I've had 3 different dr's this pregnancy. the wait time at the first dr's office was a total crap shoot. with it mostly being a long weight. I remember waiting almost 3 hours once and i was soooo hungry i was about to start nawing on the magazines.
the 2nd dr's office ALWAYS had a wait. they always had a packed waiting room.
now my newest doctor...I haven't had to wait longer than say 10 minutes. it's sooo nice because they seem to run ontime and not behind schedule and they don't overbook. such a pleasure!!

Me too! I usually wait about 15minutes in the waiting room (but I usually get there at leat 5-10 before my actual appointment), and then I wait another 10 minutes in the room before the Dr comes in. Usually out within an hour of my appointment.
Ask if you can schedule your appoinment on a day/time that they tend to be less busy to avoid the long wait time.
