Sharing a bit of shocking irony with y'all
soooo I have this friend...
she is pregnant... somewhere in the realm of 30 weeks along.
she has been smoking pot more than 3 times a week, every single week all throughout her pregnancy.
I get a message from her the other day... asking if I'm having a natural birth.... because she is priding herself on having one, or at least planning to have one.
I found this a bit ironic. Considering she's been stoned throughout most of her pregnancy, is she now some sort of hero because she will be drug free for the birth??? (She watched the business of being born and has decided to go natural - too bad the business of being born didn't say not to do drugs DURING your pregnancy as well!)
I'm actually not planning a natural birth. But I really wanted to respond with "well considering I've been sober this entire pregnancy, I figured I'd go out with a bang!!"
Anyway... sad as it is that she is smoking pot her whole pregnancy, I just found this message from her to be hysterical, yet obviously ridiculous!

That's one of the weirdest things I've heard in awhile! I wouldn't even know how to respond...but your "go out with a bang" idea is probably what I'd wind up saying accidentally  .

That is very ironic. She should just continue the flow at this point...go the distance. Is she planning on smoking up before she goes to the hospital? LOL I don't know why but I find this really funny, in a ridiculous way. When you were talking to her were you like "Is this conversation really happening right now? Am I in the twilight zone? Am I high?" LOL

TOTALLY weird. Why bother trying to go au naturale NOW?

This makes me so sad...SD's egg donor smoked her entire pregnancy as well and SD was DEFINITELY affected by it...she's got no attention span and very little self control...this woman deserves a smack in the face

haha this is what I was thinking that she MIGHT plan to be stoned while giving birth just NOT to have an epidural or some "synthetic" drug. .
I'd be willing to bet money she ends up on the drugs and kicking the "natural" plan to the curb!

i actually dont find this entirely weird. so many pot smoking women follow hippie-esque nature-centric mindframes. so although we all know smoking ANYTHING while pregnant is bad, it doesnt surprise me at all that she would want a natural birth.
ETA - i am sure if they offered a pot-assisted birth she would take that one in a second!!

pot isnt a physically addictive drug. so the baby would not have withdrawals.
