How to Wean from BM to Formula
I'm ready to wean DD from BM to formula and was wondering how to do it. Any suggestions?
Also, since she had latching problems the hospital gave her Similac Advanced - has anyone had any problems with that? DD didn't have any bad reactions so I know she's not allergic to it.
TIA!

Re: How to Wean from BM to Formula
DS was BF all day, and I only gave formula at night. The first 4 weeks he had no issue with formula by week 5 he had a lot of gas, we switched formula 3 times, finally found that good start gentle was easiest on him.
I think you can just give it straight up, unless the baby refuses it, then you may want to mix with with BM. If your baby already got a taste of formula I doubt she will reject it.

Re: How to Wean from BM to Formula
When I switched my DDs, I started by mixing 1oz of formula with the BM (decreased by 1oz) then after a few days, I'd increase the formula to 2oz, and keep going until you are onto all formula. I also had to change formula a couple of times. With DD#1 I too ended up with Good Start. DD#2 is a whole other story but she ended up on Elecare.
