Measure ahead without change in EDD?
Anyone measure ahead at a sono without a change in EDD?
I had a really long cycle so LMP wasn't accurate. I estimated that I was 7w2d for my first appt but went for a dating/viability sono which said I was 7w0d so they gave me an EDD of August 24th based on those measurements.
Today I had another sono at 11w2d but measured 12w2d at first, and then the doctor remeasured and said 11w6d. However, she said dating sonos are most accurate when you are early and kept my EDD the same.
Is this common? I'm going for my nuchal translucency scan on 12w1d so even if I'm actually a week ahead I should be within the range, but it makes me wonder how far I really am!

Re: Measure ahead without change in EDD?
I was told that between 2-6 days they often don't change an EDD. . or days is the minimum for recalculation. . I'm sure everyone is different though. .

Re: Measure ahead without change in EDD?
This is slightly different I suppose, but I at my 32 week sono the baby was measuring 37 weeks and my DD remained the same....
This was an IVF pregnancy (FET ) so we know precisely when I conceived.

Re: Measure ahead without change in EDD?
The sono at closest to 8 weeks is the most accurate. Doctors don't usually change your DD unless it's over a week difference and they feel like there's a good reason to. Some babies just grow faster than others, but at the very beginning they usually grow at the same rate, which is why the earliest measurement is most accurate.
You know my story... no clue when my EDD was... got my due date at my first appointment when they said I measured exactly 8 weeks. She measured about 4 days ahead most of the time since then at subsequent appointments.
Baby was born the day before my due date. Guess she knew!!!!

Re: Measure ahead without change in EDD?
For my DS - i had long cycles so LMP did not work for me also - My sono at 8 weeks measured by EDD - the one at ultrascreen measured a few days less than EDD - they left it the same - 20 week was a week ahead of EDD -
i delivered 3 weeks ahead - it is all an estimate - if they click slightly less on the sonogram it comes up less
they never changed my date

Re: Measure ahead without change in EDD?
Me! I'm actually measuring a week ahead. My EDD is 7/21 but the sono tech thinks it's more like 7/14. I found this out at my Ultrascreen and they said I was too far along for the test.

Re: Measure ahead without change in EDD?
My first son measured two weeks ahead the entire time. They didn't change my due date. I was induced with him ten days late, and he was almost 10lbs

Re: Measure ahead without change in EDD?
Baby has been measuring 10 days to 2 weeks ahead this entire pregnancy and dr won't change due date. Sono tech said size isn't an indicator of lung maturity

Re: Measure ahead without change in EDD?
I had just gotten off BCP when I got pregnant. I was pretty sure I O'd late. At my first sono, I was 8w1d based on LMP and 7w1d based on the sono. My doctor pushed my EDD back 1 week. After that, DS caught up, but my EDD remained the same. My doctor won't change the EDD unless the baby is measuring at least 7-10 days ahead or behind.

Re: Measure ahead without change in EDD?
I would assume unless the baby measures ahead consistently they won't change your EDD.

Re: Measure ahead without change in EDD?
Only in the beginning (like 8 weeks) when I measured pretty far ahead did they move my due date up (also because they didn't account the first time that I have 23 day cycles). However, at this last appointment, the baby measured almost a week ahead and they didn't move my date at all because I'm so far along (29 weeks)
