Anyone work dowtown/financial district?
OMG. Apparently someone jumped from a window and is lying on the sidewalk covered in a tarp with ONE officer standing guard. No detectives, no ambulance. It is the oddest/saddest scene. In front of Duane Reade on Maiden Lane (across from Jim Brady's).

The body has been laying there with that one officer since at least 9am. Very sad. I can see it from my office window and I am trying so hard to not keep looking.

OMG, that is terrible! I used to work on Maiden Lane a couple years ago, right across from that DR. I'm a few blocks away now.

That officer has been there since before 7:30am. I walked out from the 2 train (chase exit) at 7:30am and walked down Maiden Lane towards my building as I do every morning. I saw the area roped off, but didn't think much of it as I assume it was due to falling ice. As I got closer I saw people taking pictures (how rude!) and I looked down and saw the man lying there with a white tarp covering most of his body. The officer was just standing there. I assume they are waiting for the coroner to show up. So sad really.

that is just so disturbing, why would you take pics of someone that has died, it is so wrong on so many levels

I used to live and work right over there (I worked right on Maiden). That's so sad. And for people to be taking pictures, I have no words other than vile, disgusting, disrepectful. Some people never cease to amaze me

That's horrible. I was heading that way for lunch today but, I think I may not now - I don't think I could deal with seeing that knowing what happened.
