back pain anyone?- 20 weeks
I am 5 months now,, and I am starting to have major back pain when I sleep. I toss and turn, and nothing works. It is almost like I have to crack my back, but I cant do that anymore. Is this or did this happen to anyone else? What did you do for it? When I stand up I am fine. It is only at night when I go to bed.

Re: back pain anyone?- 20 weeks
Back pain can be awful when pregnant! One thing I found when I was pregnant with DS is to get one of those body pillows so my knees were apart and I could re-arrange myself around it. I found some nights I needed to be propped up on 3 pillows, while other nights it helped to be flat. you can also ask your doctor if he/she has some safe stretches they recommend, or if they approve of pre-natal massages. Typically back pain (as far as I know) is not a symptom of anything major, though rarely it is connected with things like gallbladder issues (which are fairly common in pregnancy) and other things. I'm sure it's totally normal back pain! If you're worried, call your doctor. They'll be able to run down if you have any other symptoms that concern them.

Yes, unfortunately the only thing that helped my back/hips is the Snoogle. I hate having to use it - it's a major production getting in and out of bed, especially in the middle of the night, but it is the only thing that helped me. It's not perfect and I still have back and hip pain, but it's a thousand times better than it was previously.
I miss sleeping cuddled up with DH though ...

Re: back pain anyone?- 20 weeks
I had gotten the same pains around this time - i think it was my body adjusting when my belly had a growth spurt.....i tried the body pillows but they didnt help me
The one thing that helped was the memory foam topper i bought - i bought the cheapest one and i wish i had bought the more expensive one but it still helped alot.
I also see my chiro once a week and the massage therapist once a month - that really helps alot too!

I have a variety of back and hip issues - am actually starting with a physical therapist tomorrow who specializes in OB patients.
I bight the Snoogle this weekend and am happy to report that it made a big difference. Previously,I had been using random pillows between my knees - which helped immensely......but the Snoogle is way better.
