HELP! My 10 month old still gags on all table food
DS is 10 months old and still cannot eat table foods. He is fine with puffs and cheerios. Thats it! I gave him eggs this morning and he gagged and threw up. He does the same thing with toast, fruit, pasta, stage 3 foods. Any suggestions?

Loey was the same way.
Just keep trying, slowly.
What other foods have you tried?
By around 11 months he was on all table foods. Out of basically nowhere, he was able to do it.

Re: HELP! My 10 month old still gags on all table food
Same for my DS. Sometime around 11 months his appetite and expertise with all kinds of foods skyrocketed. It really bothered me while I was going through it, but looking back, it was fine. He just wasn't ready, but yet he was still getting nourished.

Re: HELP! My 10 month old still gags on all table food
My DD is 9 months, I gave her a banana for breakfast and she gagged a few times, but the other day I gave her whole bread and cheese and she was fine.
I usually feed her her dinner then when DH and I eat, we just give her some small pieces to get her used to it. She is fine with stage 3 foods.

Re: HELP! My 10 month old still gags on all table food
my DD was the same way and then all of a sudden, she got it. I wouldn't sweat it - just keep offering puffs, cheerios, etc. Rice krispies are good too. I also highly recommend Baby Mum-Mums - they're a giant dissolvable rice cracker - DD got more into eating when she was able to feed herself and take bites - like what she had seen us do. In the beginning, waffles (cut up into small pieces that she could pick up) were probably the easiest table food for her. I know I had a post asking about this too and she's fine now and completely on table foods!

Same here but my baby is 8 1/2 months. Her gag reflex is still so far forward on her tounge. Any time a tiny piece of food hits the middle of her tounge she gags and often throws up.

Re: HELP! My 10 month old still gags on all table food
DS is 15 months old and was the same way. I couldn't give him stage 3 foods because the chunks mixed in with the pure confused him and he would gag and throw up every time..At the same age of your DS, I just kept trying him with foods. He did best with chicken and pasta and peas..He is now able to eat crackers, cookies, and cheerios with no problems. When he isn't teething really bad, he will eat most stuff put in front of him. He has a severe gag reflex and it is taking him longer to get over it..Just give it time and keep trying..Nothing to mushy or lumpy. He will still gag on something once in a while. I know how frustrating it is....I went through it from when he started solids up until now..Scrambled eggs weren't good. Neither was pastina...

Re: HELP! My 10 month old still gags on all table food
My DD does this for a lot of the stage 3 foods too. She'll eat puffs, yogurt melts, cheese, and even little bits of meat and bread but if I give her 'gooey' foods like stage 3 pastas, she gags. I just keep trying and figure eventually she'll figure it out.
