Flying and carseats

I'm flying to FL w DD in March. She will be sitting on my lap. I need my caraway once I get there. Do I need to pay the $25 fee to check it, or is it allowed?

That's car seat, not caraway. I HATE autocorrect!

Great! Thanks. First time flying without DH so I'm trying to get organized ahead of time.

If you are not going to need the carseat on the plane, I'd think about checking it with your luggage so it's one less thing to lug around the airport. I don't think there's a fee to check it at the counter. Your airlines website will have that information.

ITA

We just flew JetBlue and checked it with our luggage - so much easier than carrying it through the airport and it didn't cost anything extra.

I would gate check it - I have read that it gets thrown around more when you check it with luggage than at the gate.

delta charges at check in, but not at the gate. Although if you are a Delta AMEX card holder, everyone flying gets 1 free checked luggage, so DS's seat will be his item.
