We're having it done, buttttt we also did a LOT of renovations so there is a lot to clean, more so than just a good scrubbing so I think my pricing will be off

yes, we had the empty house cleaned before we moved in.
we used one of those professional maid services and i think it was just under $300.

We hired someone before moving in. It probably cost about $300. The house we moved into had been empty and had had some work done, so I felt that it was a little dirty, had cobwebs, etc. However, it got MUCH dirtier after we moved in. All the boxes, packing paper, traffic from visitors in and out, furniture deliveries. So, in the end I felt it was a waste of money. We probably needed the cleaning more a month or so after we moved in.

We did. The house was pretty clean but I wanted it sparkling. I was 7 months pregnant at the time so packing and unpacking was enough for me! It was around $400.
