No... and i used to work on Canal Street... the only time ive ever had a knock off in my possession was because one of our tenants gave it to me... i wouldnt buy it myself... i dont really care for lv, coach, etc...
the only big name brand bags i buy are Vera Bradley

Not handbags, but the only big name brand I like anyhow is Coach. Other than than, I buy inexpensive bags, and probably wouldn't know if it was a knockoff, b/c I don't follow what all the high-end brands look like.
I buy moderately priced shoes, and wouldn't really know if the Anne Klein or Bandolino that I was buying was a knock off of a Stuart Weitzman. I just buy what I like and can afford.

i've bought a few bags on Canal St over the years (not the ones behind closed doors, but the ones out on display), but not because they were knock-offs. More because it was a cheap bag and i liked the style. I could care less what brand it is

I am completely against knockoffs.
Buy the real thing and if you can't afford it, save for it.
But don't steal someone's idea and concept, then sell it in a cheap version and call it the real thing.
It's not and it's not fooling anyone.
How would people feel if they created their business and someone takes off from what you created, cheapened it and called it your brand? I think most of us would be against it.

Do I have a few real bags, yes.
I change bags like underwear and get bored quickly.
I actually find it funny that most are saying NO but yet I see it more and more, out in public....since I am aware of what is real/fake.

Yes.
I have real LV, Gucci, Prada, Coach bags but I also have fake.
Just like I have real diamonds and crystals. Real gold/platinum and costume.
Honestly I feel like if you get a GOOD fake and if you wear something well people can't tell.
I have a fake LV bag I bought in Venice that seriously looks real. The handles are even turning color the way my real one does 
ETA: Oh and those who are saying it is "stealing" I don't care. What does it cost to make a LV bag? not the 1000k plus they charge. Desinger stuff is so marked up I have very little sympathy and they are still selling plenty of bags. Maybe I am wrong but I don't care

The mark up is horrific. My step-sister is in purchasing at Coach corporate - high up, she gets a 50% discount and they are STILL making money.
I love my Coach bags and I only shop at the outlet for them because of the great prices, I have no fake Coach. I have one knock off LV, it's not even the "leather", it's canvas - retail was $900. Iwas not paying $90 for a canvas summer bag. Got it on Canal for $40, which irritated me enough for canvas, but I love the style. I had a fake Kate Spade but the dog ate it. LOL.

I wouldn't judge anyone for using fake stuff but I wouldn't. Actually, recently I saw a purse that I loved on the street and I mean  and it had a fake little Prada label and I asked him if he had any without it and he looked at me like I was nuts.

Same here. I get my bags from a friend who works for a HUGE handbag design company. She who makes a ton of money buys these knockoffs because she knows how much the real bags cost. A really Louis Vuitton bag costs about 50 bucks to make.
I have real bags from high end designers- Chanel, Louis and Dior. I collect vintage bags as well.
I have to say- the bags you can get that are made with the same exact materials and look excatly the same, not even the manufacturer would know the difference, why not. I love bags and change them up. So yes, I have many real but some fake as well. No one ever knows.

The "fake" version of something is often advertising for the brand.
For example do you remember a cple yrs ago when the colorful LV bag was all over? MOST of the ones I saw day to day were fake, but IMO this was great marketing for LV bc people saw it and wanted it.
This is another way to look at it.

Exactly! We are not saying you are buying Emu boots vs. Uggs.
We are talking about someone claiming to sell Gucci sunglasses with the Gucci logo but they are not.
It does not matter what the mark-up is. Just because it is not affordable for you has no bearing into justifying stealing someone's work.
