Carpets-how long to install?

On Sunday- I went down to Home Depot to get an order going on carpeting the upstairs of my home...

While I was there I asked how long, what they would do if they didnt have enough carpet in stock etc...

They said it would be w/in a week; and that if they didnt have enough, they would just call around to other home depots to get more...

PS- on Monday the measuring guys call- schedule to measure on Tuesday; Wednesday they call with a quote and state that the carpet wont be in until 2/2 and THEN they would call to set up the installation...

We are scheduled to move our furniture in at the end of next week (the 27th- 10 days after I started this process w/ home depot) 2/2 wont work for me....

I kinda raised hell on the phone, about being mislead and the lady was going to call around to local stores to see if they had it in stock (which Im not sure why they didnt do that in the first place)

Soooooooo- now Im on the hunt for a carpet place that is reasonable priced, and can install carpet w/in a week...

Does that exsist???? Help!

we went to Class Carpet in levittown. we were lucky enough to choose a carpet that they had in stock. otherwise they did tell us it could take about a week to get it in. they came on a saturday to measure and we scheduled the installation that tuesday. we only had 2 rooms done and they were done in less than a day.

We used Carpet Express.

They have an office in Mastic & Rocky Point.

My brother is a carpet installer. FM me if you want his #. He'll be able to give you an idea on what to expect.

HD definetly took longer then quoted - i was beging to get it installed on a friday when furniture was coming saturday -

the floor store in farmingdale was about the same price and would have been faster
