Why dont you just ask her?

If you really aren't invited to the wedding- that is beyond horrible.

I really doubt it though. Is she having a large wedding or is it small?

The girl who didn't get the STD is asking one of the bridesmaids (who sent out the shower and bparty invites) if she's invited to the wedding.

My friend who's getting married is not the 'tacky' type and is having a fairly big wedding, so i'm hoping its just that not everyone got the std and that the other friend is definitely invited to the wedding.

thanks for all the responses, i didn't think it was right but sometimes when it comes to wedding planning my idea of right doesn't always jive with the 'norm'!

Personally I think it's tacky, but that's just my opinion. I would never ask someone to the bridal shower and the bachelorette party and not the wedding.

I didn't send save the dates to everyone I invited-only to selected few...so it could be that she is still invited.

It is unusual to be invites to the shower and bachelorette party but not the wedding.

Re: invite to shower and bachelorette, but not wedding?

I didn't send STDs to everyone.. only bridal party, family and super-closest friends who I would have really missed at my wedding.

I couldn't send STDs to everyone because I had way more people on my list than my room would hold.

I wouldn't assume anything based on that alone.

I would be pizzed too....usually it is the other way around...engagement parties are more intimate and the weddings you invite others.

Re: invite to shower and bachelorette, but not wedding?

a STD IS not an invite.. it's a Save the Date.. your friend's may have been lost..

IF she isn't sent an invite, then yes, that is VERY rude to be invited to a shower and bachelorette party but not a wedding.

The save the dates may not gone out to everyone. I know I didn't send them to all.

Re: invite to shower and bachelorette, but not wedding?

Maybe the people running the shower and bachloerette party arent communicating with the bride in terms of guest list?

Thats all I can think of...because thats just not right!

Re: invite to shower and bachelorette, but not wedding?

why would someone be invited to those more intimate gatherings and not the wedding? If I were the one invited to those and not the wedding, I'd be pretty put off by it - especially since a gift is given at the shower.

eta: i agere with those that said the std probably got lost in the mail. i can't imagine someone having the audacity to invite to the shower and bach party and not the wedding. probably an honest mistake.

Re: invite to shower and bachelorette, but not wedding?

this is tacky. if you are close enough to be invited to the shower and the bachelorette then you should be invited to the wedding.

i think if i was invited to the 2 events but not the wedding... i would decline them all.

this can def happen. but for me.... everyone who was invited to the shower or bach received a save the date. it was those I didn't invite to the 2 events that may not have received a STD.

After re-reading your post, subject title and the answers, there seems to be some confusion between the STD and the wedding invitation.

Not getting an STD does not mean you will not get invited to the wedding. Some people don't even do STDs (although that's the case in your situation).

But not being invited to the wedding (wedding invitation, not the STD) after being invited to the shower (not really an invitation if you ask me..... you are buying a wedding gift for the shower) and being asked to participate in the bachelorette pary, would be tacky. Not getting a STD is not tacky. It's not an invitation. More of an FYI... Usually sent to people you really want to make sure they can plan ahead and save the date.

I had a ton of girls come out for my bachelorette party, but we went to the Nautical Mile and it was mainly just a fun night out.

I would never invite someone to a shower, if they weren't invited to the wedding. That, IMO, is rude and greedy.

Ditto...
One of the guys in my BP was engaged and his fiance asked if she could bring a girlfriend since she didn't really know anyone else. Also, my ex-SIL brought one of her friends.

The friends were not invited to the wedding. It was basically like a night out with the girls for them.
I would never invite someone to the shower and NOT the wedding though.

shower = gift

bachelorette = shell out $$$ for the bride to be to have a great time.

Not invited to wedding = SUPER TACKY!

My thoughts exactly!!
