Eczema moms, has your DC's eczema gotten worse in the colder months?
Poor DS cannot stop itching. He had baby eczema but it was under control - only had it on his ears and wrists occasionally. Now he seems to be itchy everywhere.

DS has a mild case of eczema, but it has gotten worse over the winter. Luckily it doesnt seem to bother him. But i lotion him up at least 2 xs a day. He mainly has it on is back and thighs.

DS's was super mild until this winter. The cream the ped prescribed used to work on the occasional outbreak. But now that winter is here it doesn't do a thing.
We have switched to J&J Oatmeal body wash and lotion. It's helped a bit. But its still pretty bad. Luckily DS doesn't seem to be bothered by it except for right after bath time.

Ditto... lotion and I glob him up with Aquaphor every night after his bath. He gets rosey cheeks too

Yes, DD has been getting the most awful flare ups lately.
And I can only slather her so much. Poor thing!

That's the thing. We used to use DS's prescribed ointment once in a while and it would clear it right up.
It doesn't seem to be working anymore. Not sure if we should take him back to the derm.

YES it has - for SURE. we're seeing a derm next week!
we switched from the california baby body wash to the cerave body wash and from the cerave lotion to the cerave cream - that helps a LOT!

Yeah, I've thought about taking him back to the doc, but like I said it doesn't seem to bother him so much. So I have been trying to wait it out.
If your DS is bothered by it maybe just give the derm a call and see if they will prescribe something different without going in.

my ped told me not to use liquid soaps on his skin, even Aveeno, b/c they are still drying.
I've been using a goats milk bar soap on him for about a year and it is AWESOME. hardly any flareups ever.
his skin is so soft and I love the way it smells.
my godson's mom started using it on her 6 year old too and it has stopped the incessant scratching, even in this weather.
I highly recommend this soap.

Poor guy is scratching so much that his skin is bleeding.
We put aquaphor on constantly but it doesn't seem to help. We have also been putting on his prescribed aclovate. Also doesn't seem to help. Sigh.

just went to the doctor, told us to switch to dove bar unscented, and to use aquaphor RIGHT after the bath when still wet. Also if its bad to use 1% hydracortisone cream.
