We just modified our mortgage. It was cheaper than refinancing. Our bank said we could modify as often as once per year. We reduced our payment and our term. There is not as much paperwork involved and no attorneys. We went to the bank and signed everything in about ten minutes. If you have any specific questions, just ask.
