Me too. But I have to say, now knowing how it is pronounced, I think it is beautiful

It's a beautiful name. It's the French version of Emily. Did you ever see the movie with Audrey Tatou called Amelie? It's one of my favorite movies ever. Her character is a precocious, creative, beautiful young lady.

I think it's pretty, but I do think it will constantly be pronounced incorrectly.
My name is DianA - and people actually call me DianE! People mispronounce everything 
I agree too. I'm Susan and have been called Suzanne ALOT. Annoying.
