Has anyone been on this ship? If so, can you tell me what you thought of it? TIA

Re: Norwegian Gem
Never been but my ILs were just on it in October. They loved it! They said they actually even liked it better than the ship we usually go on- the Dawn.

There's a restaurant on board (the Tex Mex one) they had the best food on the ship IMO. There was this one entree that was like a metal tree with all meats and veggies hanging off of it, it was delicious! Also their chocolate cake in that restaurant was to die for!! It was only like $10 - totally worth it!

Re: Norwegian Gem
When we just were on the Gem last month, we booked a suite. In my mind, totally worth it. There is a small indoor pool and hot tubs that you can enjoy even in the cold weather and Cagney's was complimentary for Breakfast and Lunch. They have had some really great deals on some of their cruises. Have FuN!

We did the 10 day cruise on that ship too, I wonder if it was the same stops. It was awesome. The hibachi place was always packed, but delicious. You'll love it!

Re: Norwegian Gem
Thank you everyone. It sounds like everyone had a good time. I had some questions about the bowling on the ship.
Can kids play or is it adults only? If kids can play, do they have bumpers? How much is it to play?
What are some of the things that everyone liked about this ship, more then another one that they were on?

Re: Norwegian Gem
The bowling lanes are in the Bliss Lounge. Kids can bowl up to midnight, I think its $5/pp/game. This lounge also has air hockey, which my kids loved. In the lobby, the have a two story WIi screen that they let kids do a few hours per day. If you decide to try this, get there early, there were a ton of kids lined up for it. I think this boat is better b/c of the bowling, air hockey and wii for kids. I didn't have that on the other NCL ships, but its possible the other ships have been upgraded since I have been on them.
