I have $150 to spend on blinds
My mom gave me a gift card to Home Depot for Christmas Yes, I asked for it I still have the plastic horizontal blinds in every room of my house - we have a LOT of windows in this house and verticals are expensive. So finally, I'd like to start replacing them. I originally wanted to do the verticals in my bedroom, but my DH thinks we should do them downstairs because that is what most people will see. Which would you do? Same amount of windows in each room. Either doing verticals or faux wood.

Re: I have $150 to spend on blinds
when renovating I like to spend the money on places where I entertain first. So I say living room, dining room or kitchen before bedroom
Heck we still have hand me down bedroom furniture because in the last 6 years other rooms have been a priority to me over my bedroom!
ETA: I would say go with the faux wood vs vertical. I feel like vertical blinds look pretty dated these days, although I havent looked at what new types they have in the stores so I could be wrong!

do faux wood. i think verticals are kind of old fashioned. we got all of our faux wood blinds at home depot and they look really good.

Yea I think I will...I think I am leaning towards doing the living room area.
Thanks!

ITA. Not to hijack but do you get the same color faux wood blinds for every room or do you get ones that match the furniture in each room. Just wondering how it would look from the outside.

Re: I have $150 to spend on blinds
I got the same color wood blinds for every room in the house. Our home is an open floor concept so you can see into multiple rooms from many places. I thought that different color blinds would look funny. I like seeing the same kind of blinds in other people's homes. I think the only time where I like something different is if you have a front picture window. I think you can differentiate with curtains.

I agree with PP - go for the wood.
To answer another poster - I have different blinds in my rooms. I don't think it looks "off" from the outside.

Re: I have $150 to spend on blinds
I had the faux wood blinds from HD in my old house. They looked great and so easy to clean.
