anyone familiar with Phoenicia/Kingston area?
We rented a house with friends for New Years weekend in Phoenicia. We are the only ones with kids and we don't want them to be couped up in a house for 4 days so I'm researching things to do in the area. I think we may take Ds (4yrs) snow tubing, but I'm looking for something indoors that may be fun for bot of them. Some type of children's museum?

i went tubing up there (summer time) and we ate breakfast at a really good place near there...it's a street that has an antique shop--(the place to eat is right across from the shop)...we tubed down the esopus river---so if you look that up..maybe you'll be able to see the area that i am talking about..i wish i knew the name of the street &/or restaurant bc it was so good! when you get up there maybe if you ask around someone can direct u to the restaurant im talking about!
ETA: maybe it's bridge street or near there

I think I actually know the restaurant, the lady we're renting from suggested a great breakfast spot Sweet Sue. We're right on the Esopus River and walking distance to town- though we'll see about that considering how cold it may be.

We actually only ate out once, right in town the Sportsman Cantina or something like that. It was Tex Mex because we were in the mood for margheritas! Yummy! I would definitely go back to that area, but I don't think we would rent the same house. I get that it was a country house, but mouse droppings aren't exactly what we had in mind.

I used to live near there...There's a huge kaledescope (like walk-in huge), and it's not too far from Woodstock. Other than that, tubing, etc. There's a mid-Hudson children's museum in Poughkeepsie, but I don't think it's worth the trip.
